aha The Rex Hotel in Knysna in the Western Cape of South Africa is currently undergoing an expansion project.
The construction commenced last December and is set to be completed by November.
The project will encompass the addition of 56 rooms and a restaurant, and the relocation of the reception and foyer. A new pool and landscaped gardens are incorporated into the extended area and most rooms will overlook this courtyard.
The extension is estimated at $4.7 million.
The construction is not attached to the existing building and will therefore not have an adverse impact on guests.
