Air France-KLM Assisting Libya

Air France-KLM has signed maintenance agreements with Afriqyiah Airways and Libyan Airlines to service aircraft damaged during the fighting that took place in recent months.

The first steps in that agreement were the arrival in Toulouse of two aircraft from Benghazi and Tripoli.

Afriqiyah Airways had actually signed an agreement with Air France-KLM in 2008, but it was put on hold for over a year because of the political unrest in Libya. That contract has now been reactivated.

Air France-KLM will be in charge of the support pool and the repair of equipment of the airline’s fleet of A320s and A330s. This contract has also been extended to maintenance visits of the same aircraft.
