Travelport increases African Footprint

Travelport has signed a new 16-country distributor agreement with Dubai-based Satguru Travel & Tourism, Africa’s largest travel company outside of South Africa. The GDS provider will grow its African network from 27 to 41 countries and grow its existing GDS operations in a further two.

Gautrain Johannesburg to Tswane Launch Date set for 2 August

 The Gauteng Provincial Government, the Gautrain Management Agency and the Bombela Concession Company are pleased to confirm that the next phase of the Gautrain will be opened for commercial service on 2nd August 2011. The Independent Certifiers for the project, Arup, have confirmed that they will be in a position to issue the Operating Commencement Date Certificate for this phase of operations on Monday 1st August. This follows a rigorous evaluation of all the contractual and technical requirements for this phase.

Comair Ltd revamps their aircraft fleet

Boeing and Comair Limited today announced an order for eight Next-Generation 737-800s complete with the innovative new Boeing Sky Interior. Comair will use its new 737s to update the fleet of Comair's low-fare airline, kulula.com. The airplanes are valued at approximately $646 million at current list prices. The order previously was attributed to an unidentified customer on Boeing's orders and deliveries website.
