Fastjet now offers three flights each week to the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar from Johannesburg (South Africa), travelling via Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).

The flights, offered in partnership with Tanzanian local carrier Coastal Aviation, start from $200, inclusive of government and airport taxes.

Flights will take off every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, departing O.R. Tambo International Airport at 23h20. A Coastal Aviation representative will meet passengers on arrival at Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport and transfer them to their short flight to Zanzibar.

Return flights operate on the same days, leaving Zanzibar at 17h15 for the 20 minute flight to Dar es Salaam and then connecting to the fastjet flight that lands back in Johannesburg at 22h30.

South African passport holders do not need a visa to visit Tanzania and Zanzibar if they intend staying for 90 days or less. However, a current yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
