South African Airways has launched a new daily service between Johannesburg (South Africa) and Abu Dhabi (U.A.E).

The new service has been introduced as part of an expansion of the partnership agreement between the SAA and Etihad Airways, and complements Etihad’s existing daily service from Abu Dhabi to Johannesburg.

SAA passengers travelling from Africa can access up to 35 new codeshare destinations, pending regulatory approval, with connections through the Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.

The flight is operated by a two-cabin Airbus A330-200 aircraft, configured to carry 36 passengers in Business Class and 186 in Economy class.

Flight SA278 departs Johannesburg at 09h15 and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 20h25. The return flight, SA279, leaves the U.A.E at 01h05 and lands in South Africa at 08H15.
