Air Uganda earns IOSA certificate

According to eTurboNews, Air Uganda recently completed its latest IATA safety audit, resulting in a two-year renewal of their IOSA certification.

The IATA Operational Safety Audit is presently the gold standard for airlines to show full compliance with local regulatory requirements, IATA guidelines and recommendations, along with directives on aircraft maintenance and inspections.

Air Uganda operates a fleet of three Bombardier CRJ200 jets and flies from its hub in Entebbe to Nairobi and Mombasa (Kenya), to Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania (in codeshare with Precision Air), Bujumbura (Burundi), Kigali in Rwanda (in codeshare with RwandAir), as well as to Juba (South Sudan) and Mogadishu (Somalia).

IOSA certification is a key requirement for smaller regional airlines like Air Uganda to be able to discuss co-operation, interline agreements and codeshare arrangements with larger carriers, or be chosen by them to feed and de-feed traffic.
