Airlink to commence Sishen flights

Airlink has announced that it will commence operating scheduled flights between O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Sishen in the Northern Cape of South Africa on 29 September.

Sishen airport is located in close proximity to Kumba’s iron ore mine and services the broader mining community of Kathu. It also allows travellers from as far afield as Postmasburg and the new Kolomela mine, as well as Kuruman and Olifantshoek, to make use of the Airlink service.

Airlink will offer a twice-daily return service to Sishen with morning flights departing ORTIA at 07h20, arriving at 08h40. The return flight will depart Sishen at 09h05, arriving at ORTIA at 10h15. Afternoon flights will depart ORTIA at 16h30, arriving in Sishen at 17h50. Returning flights from Sishen will depart at 18h15, and arrive at ORTIA at 19h25. Flights will operate Monday to Friday on a 37-seat Embraer 135 regional jet aircraft.
