Minor Hotels has announced that the AVANI Bel-Ombré Mauritius Resort & Spa will open during 2019 – two years earlier than originally anticipated.
Construction will commence in January 2018, with the plan to be complete by June 2019.
The early completion date was announced after Minor Hotels’ Regional Director Sir Richard Hawkins met with Mauritius’ Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth to confirm all parties’ commitment to the successful completion of the project.
AVANI Mauritius Bel-Ombré will have 150 rooms, consisting of 134 standard rooms and 16 AVANI suites, as well as 12 offer-for-purchase residential four-bedroom pool villas.
It will have multifunctional meeting spaces that can be configured for a range of events, from meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions to weddings and other celebratory events.
AVANI Mauritius Bel-Ombré will also offer a six-roomed spa, a gym, children’s entertainment area, boathouse, two restaurants and a pool bar.
The property will be half an hour from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolan International Airport.
