Avis Car Rental has assured customers of both Avis and its newly-acquired Budget Car Rental brand that there will be minimal disruptions to services when it takes over the Budget brand next month.
The current Avis infrastructure, including fleet, branch network and call centre, will be used to service Budget customers.
The contact number for Budget reservations, customer care and roadside emergency will remain 086 101 6622.
Budget will continue to serve both corporate and discretionary markets under the GDS supplier code ZD.
Discretionary Budget rentals will accrue Roses, the currency of the Avis Club Red loyalty programme for travel agents.
Travel partners with customers who have contracted corporate accounts with Bidvest Car Rental previously trading as Budget, will need to take special care to ensure that these customers are booked using the new Bidvest Car Rental GDS supplier code with effect from 1 March.
