Crystal moves into river cruises

Crystal Cruises, represented in South Africa by Cruises International, plans to launch two Crystal river yacht vessels in Europe starting in late March 2017.

This follows the cruise line’s announcement last month that it was extending its range of cruise options to include river yachts and ultimately its own airline.

The new series of vessels will feature a yacht-like design with larger accommodations and space-to-guest ratio.

The 70-suite luxury river yachts, which will be built by German shipyard Lloyd Werft, will surpass current and planned river boats or ships, and will offer 23m2 guest suites with walk-in wardrobes, king-size beds and bathrooms with double vanities, two 45m2 penthouse suites and spacious public areas, including the Palm Court with dance floor and glass domed roof, a fitness centre and spa.
