Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it has finalised the shareholders agreement with the Zambian government for the re-launch of Zambia Airways.

The government will be the majority shareholder with 55% and Ethiopian will have a 45% stake in the airline.

Zambia Airways will initially serve national and regional destinations before embarking on international flights.

Part of the Ethiopian Airlines strategy is to establish multiple African hubs, and the airline already currently operates hubs in Lomé (Togo) with ASKY Airlines and Lilongwe with Malawian Airlines.
