According to eTNW, Qatar Airways is implementing changes to its fares and fare rules that will apply to all fares for all cabins.
Effective 1 April, a new ‘shoulder’ season will be implemented, with fares positioned between low- and high-season levels. Some changes will also be made to fare levels across seasons. A new ‘Fare Basis Code’ structure will be introduced, as well as some date changes, refund and no-show penalties.
For completely un-utilised tickets issued on or before 31 March, new fares will apply, along with the old penalties/fare rules, while a new fare basis code will show. Tickets issued on or after 1 April will see new penalties/fare rules as well as new fares apply.
For partially utilised tickets issued on or before 31 March, old penalties and fare rules, as well as old fares, will apply, and the old fare basis code will be shown. Tickets issued on or after 1 April will see new penalties and new fares apply.
For un-ticketed bookings, new fares and penalties/fare rules will apply to all tickets issued on or after 1 April. To guarantee fares and penalties/fare rules at current levels, tickets must be issued on or before 31 March.
