South African-based Fireblade Aviation, which manages the only fixed-base operation (FBO) at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport, has selected FBO One from Amsterdam software as its online management tool to run its FBO and fuel management activity.

Fireblade Aviation FBO, which became operational on 1 September 2014, is aiming to fulfil a market demand for an international-standard FBO facility at South Africa’s main airport. It offers 24-hour refuelling from a brand new on-site fuel farm; flight planning; a full concierge service to arrange ground and onward arrangements, including commercial aircraft connections; aircraft detailing; apron parking; ground power units; portable water; South African landing clearance; in-flight catering; an exclusive VIP lounge; a dedicated spa; meeting rooms; and full crew facilities.

International customs and immigration approval services are anticipated to be on offer by the end of the first quarter to complement the existing services.

“Our service offering is expansive, which generates a huge amount of planning, paperwork, communications and logistics across all the departments involved. We need to ensure we can easily follow the requirements of each client. The FBO One software allows us to customise it to our own unique service levels,” said Bjorn Ischner, Fireblade Aviation General Manager.

The online product is accessible on any mobile device. With the footprint of the Fireblade Aviation hangars, apron, fuel farm and main building spreading over more than 60,000m2, the option to access the required information from anywhere ensures workflow efficiency.
