Hotel Verde, an environmentally conscious South African hotel, is challenging other like-minded people to follow suit, and with the launch of Verde Invest is optimistic that it will build another entirely green hotel by the end of 2015.
Hotel Verde spent three years researching, conceptualising and building the Cape Town hotel, which showcases some of the most advanced environmentally-conscious technological installations, construction methods, and procurement and operational practices in the world.
With the launch of Verde Invest, it is looking for opportunities to increase its carbon-friendly footprint in the international arena, by facilitating and overseeing the building of green hotels, applying sustainable building and operation practices, and continuing its work to pioneer green hotels around the continent.
Verde Invest will be targeting countries within Africa first, where the biggest growth potential and need for new hotels and responsible building worldwide lies.
