South African low-cost airline Mango has announced that it has scheduled flights between Johannesburg and Zanzibar.
Flights will initially depart every Tuesday from 21 September, with an additional frequency added later in the year. The Johannesburg-Zanzibar schedule is Mango’s first expansion beyond South Africa’s borders. Launch fares start from R2,880, all inclusive.
Zanzibar is a popular holiday destination for South Africans.
“The success of our charter operation over the past couple of months has served as a litmus test for the scheduled service,” said Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout. “Zanzibar continues to represent good value to South African travellers and checks every box for a fantastic island holiday. The expectation is that Zanzibar will become a strong route for Mango.”
