According to eTNW, Cathay Pacific will launch its new business class product for South African passengers when the B777ER between Johannesburg and Hong Kong goes daily from 2 September.

“This is an enhanced product design made after consolidating the feedback from our customers,” said Frosti Lau, Cathay Pacific’s country manager for South Africa.

The new business class product allows passengers to control the degree of privacy and interaction they prefer. Passengers can move their seats forward to converse with a travel companion or back for more privacy.

The fully-flat bed is just over two metres long. A bed extension increases its width by 16.5 cm to provide additional hip support, while the side storage compartment offers extra knee space for sleeping on your side. For sleeping, passengers can leave the armrest up to provide more privacy, but it can also be pushed down for more space.

The entertainment control panel now includes a multi-port connector that allows passengers to connect their own electronic devices, including iPods and iPhones, and stream audio and video content to the personal TV display. There is also a USB port for charging mobile devices.
