Future Group has released the names of the nominees for the sixth annual Business Traveller Africa Conference & Awards – in association with ExecuJet – with this year’s event taking place at the Hilton Sandton on Friday (1 September 2017) morning.
Launched in 2012 in association with Business Traveller Africa magazine, the awards ceremony is an event for the South African business travel trade.
Friday will see 24 awards handed out, with a number of winners and nominees from previous years once again featuring in the list of finalists.
Future Group once again engaged ASATA (Association of Southern African Travel Agents), ABTA (African Business Travel Association), and SAACI (Southern African Association for the Conference Industry) in an attempt to source the most credible nominees in each category, and this year also broadened the voting scope to the wider South African business industry, along with engaging the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA).
In another change to the voting system, Future Group appointed a board of experienced travel professionals to oversee the announcement of the winners in each category. This board was made up of SA Tourism Chief Marketing Officer Margie Whitehouse; former SANParks CEO and SA Tourism Executive Director Mavuso Msimang; ASATA CEO Otto de Vries; Grant Thornton Johannesburg Deputy CEO & Head of Advisory Gillian Saunders; and former CEO of the International Marketing Council of South Africa Yvonne Johnston.
The Business Traveller Africa Conference & Awards is hosted by the Future Group, in association with headline sponsor ExecuJet and corporate partners ABTA, Amadeus, ASATA, SAACI, SA Tourism, SATSA, and Travelport, along with display partners Air Mauritius, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Comair Flight Services, Europcar and TAAG.
