Protea Edward adds more capacity

In a renovation expected to take six months, the Protea Hotel Edward, in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, is adding 30 new rooms to its existing 101 sleeping quarters.

The additions will comprise 27 standard rooms, two family rooms and one suite – 13 of the new rooms will be sea-facing.

The hotel received a full renovation of the interior and exterior four years ago, equipping rooms with LCD TVs, new electronic door locks, executive work stations and safes.

The latest construction work will take place between 09h00 and 16h00 on weekdays, and will be completed before the Christmas rush that starts when industries close down in the middle of December.
