The Protea Hotel Witbank, in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province, has received a multi-million rand refurbishment.
The 3-star hotel, with over 100 rooms and six conference facilities, is easily accessed from the N4 highway and is within walking distance of local government offices.
The extensive renovation has transformed the property from a country-style aesthetic into an upmarket hotel. Free Wi-Fi is available and the restaurant is open for extended hours to accommodate business travellers, whilst the large walk-in showers are another notable feature.
Various green energy saving initiatives were applied during the renovation, including water-saving techniques and a Bokashi waste system in the kitchen, both of which have seen great results and supported the development of an organic herb and vegetable garden.
