Protea Hotels has taken over ownership of the Malaga Hotel in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province.

Protea Hotel Malaga recently underwent refurbishment to both the hotel’s interior and exterior.

The conference facilities, which can accommodate groups between 10 and 200, are popular particularly because of their proximity to popular tourist attractions in the area.

Hunters Rest hotel, in the Magalies Mountains, has also joined the Protea Hotels portfolio.

The hotel, which is an hour‘s drive from Pretoria and an hour and a half’s drive from Johannesburg, has undergone a $1.25 million refurbishment to all of the public areas.

Protea Hotel Hunters Rest is geared for countryside conferencing, where city-dwelling delegates can break away and focus on strategic or motivational sales conferences.
