Qatar makes local appointment

Qatar Airways has appointed Fouad Caunhye as the Regional Manager in Southern Africa, heading the commercial activities within the region.

Based in Johannesburg, Caunhye will lead the commercial teams in Angola, Botswana, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and  Zimbabwe.

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori, said: ”We are delighted to welcome Fouad Caunhye to Qatar Airways as he is one distinguished and highly respected professional. Having him on board to lead our commercial teams in Southern Africa is not only reflecting the importance Qatar Airways is giving to the trade locally, but a clear sign for the leading ambition of our Airline for the region and the continent.”

By mid-December, Qatar Airways will operate over 70 weekly flights to 20 destinations in Africa, including Abuja, Accra, Addis Ababa, Cape Town, Casablanca, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Durban, Entebbe, Johannesburg, Kigali, Kilimanjaro, Lagos, Luanda, Maputo, Mogadishu, Nairobi, Seychelles, Tunis, and Zanzibar.
