At the beginning of May, South Africa’s Absa Bank reduced its cash withdrawal fee from international Barclays and Global Alliance partner ATMs by 30%.
Absa is currently the only representative bank for the Africa region to join the Global ATM Alliance and offer its customers the benefits of this partnership.
The Global ATM Alliance is a group of banks that has agreed to reciprocate cost-effective ways of withdrawing money in countries where the network has ATM devices.
Absa debit card customers will benefit from a reduced cash withdrawal fee from banks in various countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA. Global Alliance partner banks include Westpac, Scotiabank, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, TEB Turkish Economy Bank, UkrSibbank and Bank of America.
In addition to other Global Alliance partners, Absa customers can also benefit from withdrawing money at a reduced rate from any Barclays ATM across the world.
