Nedbank and American Express® have expanded the BTAPowerlinkSM footprint in South Africa, and in doing so, have enhanced corporate travel management efficiency, across the board.
South African bank Nedbank, in partnership with American Express, is expanding the footprint of BTAPowerlink across the travel industry. This innovative business travel expense management solution helps Travel Management Companies (TMCs) reconcile their corporate clients’ travel spend, allowing clients full visibility of their travel expenses and making tangible operational cost savings possible. With this solution, users have immediate access to their reports and statement data, enabling companies to benchmark existing travel costs easily online, and manage their expenditure in real time.
“We are delighted to have brought BTAPowerlink to South Africa in partnership with American Express, given that in the travel industry, sophisticated infrastructure, precision planning and timeliness are key imperatives. Through BTAPowerlink, we also aim to improve corporate travel efficiency through innovative technology,” said Pamela White, Head of Corporate Card Services at Nedbank.
BTAPowerlink is a free online travel management solution, that is available to new and existing American Express BTA lodge card clients who book their travel spend through a BTAPowerlink-enabled TMC.
“American Express Partner Card Services is proud to continue its collaboration with Nedbank, to meet the demands of South Africa’s strong and growing corporate travel sector, which has also demonstrated an appetite for greater efficiency and savings,” said Andrew Stewart, Vice-President and General Manager for Turkey, Middle East and Africa region at American Express.
At the end of each month, travel management consultants are required to match their travel invoices with the transactions on the BTA card account, and traditionally, all of this work was done manually – making it difficult and time-consuming to consolidate or benchmark the accounts. As such, BTAPowerlink is tailored to save companies time and money, as it will significantly reduce time spent on administrative work for TMCs. With access to consolidated management information, companies will be able to report directly from the BTAPowerlink portal to address their data needs.
“As the reconciliation process is done in a single online environment, it is simpler and faster, freeing up time for TMCs to focus on other areas of their business,” said White.
