The hotel impresses from the moment you step into the lobby – an impressive fusion of stylish sophistication and luxurious elegance, with eye-catching works of art adorning the walls. There are lots of high-end touches and the location is sure to make it an attractive offering for the business traveller.

Room Facilities

The Radisson Blu Anchorage has a total of 170 rooms and suites. The rooms are decorated in one of two styles – Urban or Ocean – and range from standard to opulently-furnished suites, with all enjoying spectacular views of the city and Lagos Lagoon. All the rooms have bathtubs and walk-in showers, mini-bar, TV, free high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity (available throughout the hotel), and an individual climate control system. The business class rooms come with additional features, such as a spacious bathroom with a glass corner to the vanity area, Nespresso coffee machine, daily newspaper, bathrobe and slippers, turn-down service, iron and ironing board. Then there’s the complimentary room service breakfast, if you choose, and the One Touch Service – a Radisson Blu signature service that allows you to connect to concierge, reception, maintenance, room service and all the other facilities, with the touch of a button. The television offering in the rooms is also impressive, with 49 channels to choose from.

Guests get free access to the fitness area, complete with gym, massage room and sauna, outdoor pool overlooking Lagos Lagoon, and a large toddler’s pool. The hotel also offers a 24-hour concierge and babysitting service.

Business &Meeting Facilities

There are four meeting rooms – the largest of which can seat up to 58 delegates, classroom style, or up to 110 guests for a reception. There are also two boardrooms, which are ideal for up to 10 delegates. All meeting rooms are furnished with free high-speed Internet and state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. Three of the meeting rooms are located on the ground floor and have access to the terrace, which overlooks the pool and lagoon, and can be reserved for special events. A deluxe Business Executive Lounge is located on the top floor and is exclusive to guests staying in business class rooms.

Restaurants & Bars

The Voyage buffet-style restaurant is open from 06h00 to 23h00, offers indigenous and international cuisine and serves daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a good view of the lagoon. The View Bar (open from 08h00 to 02h00) caters for the wine and spirits lovers, with snacks and light meals, whilst the Surface Grill & Bar (open from 12h00 to 24h00), located on the terrace, also offers spectacular views of Lagos Lagoon – a great setting for a cocktail. This venue serves a variety of dishes, from prime meat cuts to mouth-watering fish meals.

Verdict

A high-quality hotel with outstanding, luxurious finishings and excellent service, which, at times, was quite overwhelming. As one of the few dedicated business hotels in Nigeria, it’s sure to establish itself as a firm favourite in the corporate traveller market, whilst also appealing to the leisure traveller, who is on the lookout for a quality hotel on Victoria Island.
