Qatar ups frequency to Nairobi

Qatar Airways’ will increase its frequency between Doha and Nairobi by adding four additional weekly flights to and from the capital city. Beginning Sept. 1, 2013, the airline will increase its A320 aircraft flights to 18 flights per week, up from the current 14 flights. 

“As a travel destination, Nairobi has also grown in popularity over the last few years,” says Clifford Christopher, Country Manager – Kenya for Qatar Airways. “Tourists from all over the world are increasingly flocking to the capital city as an entry point to Kenya and a gateway to East Africa. 

QR532 will depart Doha at 08h40 and arrive in Nairobi at 13h35 daily. The return flight, QR533, leaves Nairobi at 16h55 and lands in Doha at 22h05. A second daily flight, QR526, runs between Doha and Nairobi, leaving at 19h30 and landing at 00h45. A new daily flight, QR527, departs from Nairobi at 01h45 and arrives in Doha at 06h45.

On Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you can catch an additional flight from Doha (QR534) at 02h20, landing in Nairobi at 07h35. The return flight (QR535) leaves Nairobi at 13h00 and lands in Doha at 18h10.

Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 16 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 129 aircraft to 128 key business and leisure destinations worldwide.

Qatar Airways has so far launched six destinations this year – Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Najaf (Iraq), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Chicago (USA), Salalah (Oman) and Basra (Iraq).

Over the next few months, the network will expand with the addition of further destinations – Sulaymaniyah, Iraq (20 August), Chengdu, China (3 September), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (18 September), Clark International Airport, Philippines (27 October) and Philadelphia, USA (2 April 2014).
