Skywise announces revised flight schedule

Skywise has amended its flight schedule from eight to six daily flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

This, after the airline had six of its flights grounded last week.

The South Africa-based low-cost airline, which began operations in February, was forced to cancel the flights over three days last week, but resumed after its suspension was temporarily lifted.

“It is unfortunate that a misunderstanding of payment terms between Skywise and our main service providers, Air Traffic and Navigation Systems and ACSA, grounded six of our flights last week,” said Tabassum Qadir, President of Skywise Airlines. “We have made the necessary changes in our processes in order to safeguard future travel reliability. We have since signed a new agreement with both parties.”

All passengers who are negatively affected by the schedule change will either be accommodated on alternative flights or refunded.

Skywise passengers affected by the six grounded flights last week are entitled to compensation and are requested to contact the airline’s customer care department.
