Cuisine on the banks of Knysna Lagoon

At the Knysna Waterfront:

34 South is the ‘Home of the Knysna Oyster’. It is both a restaurant and a shopping destination. The restaurant serves oysters, seafood, sushi, pizzas, meat, poultry and mezze. As a shopping destination, it has an extraordinary selection of wines and craft beer, as well as a deli and bakery.

The Drydock Food Co is a relaxed venue next to the yacht basin and the town’s working dry dock. It serves harbour café cuisine, including seafood, oysters, sushi, steaks, poultry, and decadent desserts (anyone for deep-fried chocolate spring rolls?)

In Thesen Harbour Town:

Sirocco means ‘immerse your senses’, and is the kind of elegant destination you’d choose for a special occasion. Its Italian/Portuguese/South African menu includes seafood, oysters, steaks, venison, Karoo lamb, pizza, salads, and delicious fruit-based desserts.

Tapas & Oysters (‘Where great food, good friends, and sticky fingers meet!’) is a vibey indoor/outdoor spot serving Spanish and South African tapas, as well as sushi and oysters. It has live music twice a week, six big-screen TVs, and a kids’ play park, along with private jetties, should you prefer to arrive by boat.

The Project Bar/Lounge (‘The freshest cocktail bar’) is the party venue you’ve been dreaming about. Situated upstairs from Sirocco, its terraces, wall-to-wall windows, and incredible views have inspired a ridiculously extensive and creative range of cocktails.

Oh, and if you’ve never tasted oysters before, our Oyster Experience (available by arrangement) includes a brief presentation and a selection of coastal and cultivated varieties – and a glass of South African bubbly.
