Southern Sun Waterfront in Cape Town has recently embarked on an extensive refurbishment which will see R100 million invested in this landmark 546-roomed property.  This major project is scheduled for completion by the beginning of December 2014. The refurbishment will enhance the hotel’s service delivery, update the facilities and give the property a stylish new look.

Phase 1 of the upgrade is in progress. The porte cochere is being completely redone and modernised. Painting of the Art Deco façade is nearing completion and a full makeover of the lobby restrooms has been completed.

The refurbishment includes the creation of an additional nine suites and a makeover of all existing rooms and bathrooms. The new décor and finishes reflect the hotel’s modern and chic Art Deco style.  Rooms have additional storage space, a larger work space for business travellers, high speed Wi-Fi and a mini-bar fridge which will be stocked on request.
